DATELINE: atlanta, ga

Author: Eliot

Atlanta, Georgia... What a bizarre and amusing experience. Andy called an Atlanta buddy on our approach, and she ended up taking us to a little bohemian cafe in "cabbage town" where I got to try grits for the first time ever. The southern service is excellent. We were all extremely satisfied, especially Andy who was serviced with the highest level of southern hospitality. Outside the cafe was a small small street festival where we witnessed the first Elvis impersonator of our trip through the south. I'm quite sure it won't be the last. There were kids running around throwing little fire cracker things at each other, and other locals singing and dancing around in the empty lot next door to the cafe. Finally Andy pulled up in the Canonball, and ran back inside the cafe to wash his hands as Karl, Ilteris, and I inspected and hesitantly took the positions we would be sitting in for the next leg of the trip. My turn to drive next. I really want to disinfect that steering wheel.
